Abstract:

This chapter focuses on malnutrition and the availability of healthy food from the perspective of human capability. It discusses various types of malnutrition, including their biological implications, endemic nature, and socio-economic consequences. The chapter concludes that malnutrition is caused by a lack of essential capabilities, such as access to education and healthcare, which are necessary for basic biological survival. Therefore, access to nutritious food is crucial to promote optimal conditions for survival.
