Abstract: | This is an account of the grief a former refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo feels for his former homeland and for what was lost in the Congo Wars. The account concludes: "I grieve for my friends killed senselessly in the Congo Wars. I grieve for the victims of a ruthless dictator. I grieve for my family and friends killed in the ethnic violence in the Congo, most often brutally and without mercy. I grieve for my parents and brothers, killed in ethnic violence. But most of all I grieve for the loss of my home in Africa". |
