Abstract: The last three decade, have seen an unprecedented rise in interest in the victim by politicians, criminal justice policy-makers and a diverse range of scholars in feminism, criminology, victimology. sociology, law and public policy (Zedner 2002; Garland 2001; Young 2002; Rock, 2005). As this interest has been an international phenomenon, this chapter provides, a comparative analytical overview of these developments across a number of Anglo-speaking countries from the northern and southern hemispheres.
