Title: Evidentiality and Mirativity in Tibeto-Burman
Contributor(s): Delancey, Scott  (author)
Publication Date: 2016

Abstract: This section discusses a set of categories which have been discussed under the broad rubric of evidentiality. This is a relatively recent addition to our typological inventory, having become a common topic of research only with Chafe & Nichols (eds.) 1986. Since documentation of Tibeto-Burman languages is likewise in a very undeveloped state, much of what we can say about the intersection of the two areas is very preliminary.
