Title: | McClymont's Vision: The Challenge Remains - Rural Science 50th Anniversary Conference 2006 | Contributor(s): | Ryan, John Sprott (author) | Publication Date: | 2007 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/1933 | Abstract: | Much thought was spent in the planning for the fiftieth AnniversaryCelebrations of the Faculty of Rural Science, held at the University of New England in September 2006. This integrated discipline, one long known by the descriptive phrase, rural science, as promulgated by the discipline's founder, will long survive in the usage of Australians, particularly those in the eastern states of Australia. Indeed, it is an indispensable part of the identity and ethos of this University which presented these conceptions nationally and, indeed, globally for agriculture. For G. L. McClymont remains without peer as the promulgator of the holistic ideas formally celebrated in 2006. | Publication Type: | Book | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FOR) 2008: | 220206 History and Philosophy of Science (incl Non-historical Philosophy of Science) | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 940599 Work and Institutional Development not elsewhere classified | HERDC Category Description: | A3 Book - Edited | Publisher/associated links: | http://nla.gov.au/anbd.bib-an42866918 | Extent of Pages: | 205 |
