Abstract: This book, the first of three, arises out of papers delivered at the Third International Legal Ethics Conference held at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia in July 2008. The conference was hosted jointly by Griffith Law School at Griffith University and the T. C. Beirne School of Law at The University of Queensland. This conference, building on the successes of the first two in the series - in Exeter, United Kingdom in 2004 and in Auckland, New Zealand in 2006 - was one of the largest specialist gatherings of legal ethicists in the new millennium.
