Abstract: Globalization is one of the most important phenomenon appearing in twentieth century. It represents a significant break in the organization of human affairs and a shift in organizational principles of economic and social life. This paper examines the process of globalization and its impact on the South Asian region. It will also trace the historical evolution of this process with effects on culture, politics, economics and security perceptions of the region. Moreover, its effects on armament trade, environmental politics and regionalism trends will also be discussed. Lastly, it will analyze the positive and negative trends which the globalization process has generated in the South Asian region.
