Title: | A study of the role of the school principal in supporting effective integration programs for students with disabilities in N.S.W. public schools kindergarten to year 12: Implications for principal training and principal selection | Contributor(s): | MacLaurin, Francesca Maria (author); Thomas, Ross (supervisor) | Conferred Date: | 1998 | Copyright Date: | 1996 | Open Access: | Yes | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/7013 | Abstract: | This study focused on those aspects of the role of public school principal which are perceived by members of the school community - the stakeholders - to be the most crucial in ensuring that integration programs for students with disabilities enrolled in regular public schools are effective, in terms of meeting both the needs of these students and the philosophical expectations for "inclusive education". It further set out to determine whether the seven "generic" criteria currently used by the N.S.W. Department of School Education for the purposes of staff promotion are appropriate for admitting educational executives to the principalship of a N.S.W. public school integrating students with disabilities into either "support" classes or into the mainstream. | Publication Type: | Thesis Masters Research | Rights Statement: | Copyright 1996 - Francesca Maria MacLaurin | HERDC Category Description: | T1 Thesis - Masters Degree by Research |
