Abstract: | | The objective of this study was to estimate the genetic parameters, genetic and phenotypic correlation of reproductive traits in Landrace using univariate and bivariate animal models in ASReml-R. Seven reproductive traits were considered in this study, namely total number born (TB), number born alive (NBA), number weaned pigs (NW), individual birth weight (BW), litter birth weight (LBW), individual weaning weight (WW) and litter weaning weight (LWW). A total of 5,265 farrowing records from 1,500 Landrace sows were collected between 2013 and 2019, sourced from three locations shared genetics by artificial insemination: Binh Thang Livestock Training and Development Center in the South, Thai Duong Foreign Pig Limited Company in the Central area, and Thuy Phuong Pig Research and Development Center in the North. The results indicated low heritability estimate for reproductive traits, ranging from 0.0192 to 0.0714, while the repeatability varied from 0.0192 to 0.1517. The genetic correlations ranged from -0.7876 to 0.9931, with the highest estimate observed for correlation between BW and LWW, and the lowest estimate observed for correlation between TB and BW. The correlations between NBA and other traits were moderate to high positive (0.0313 to 0.9887), except for a negative correlation with BW (-0.0234). The phenotypic correlation among reproductive traits ranged from -0.4195 to 0.8794. Negative phenotypic correlations were observed between the number of pig traits (TB, NBA, and NW) with BW and WW (ranging from -0.4195 to -0.1923), while positive correlations were observed with LBW and LWW (ranging from 0.414 to 0.8794).
