| Abstract |
<p>This special issue of the <i>Australian Journal of Chemistry</i> celebrates the career and scientific achievements of Professor Brian Yates, an eminent Australian computational chemist who retired from the University of Tasmania in 2022. Prof. Yates’ immense contributions to computational chemistry and chemical education in Australia, and his unwavering support for others in the Australian scientific community are worthy of this celebration. Thanks to all the authors who contributed to this special issue. </p>
