Abstract:

This research project focusses on building Ezidi parent's capacity to prepare their children for school and build a sense of belonging among Ezidi children in their new community. The effectiveness of Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY Australia, 2022) that is currently being implemented by New England Family Support Service (NEFSS) will be researched. The project will examine the effectiveness of the program for the Armidale Ezidi parents and their children. In addition, special culturally and community appropriate resources will be created to increase the program's effectiveness (e.g. photo books with Kurdish words and local places, cultural toys).
