Genotypes for the four GeneSTAR® tenderness markers and phenotypes for shear force of meat and flight time were used to develop marker assisted estimated breeding values for shear force (SF EBVM). The partial regression coefficients for the effects of the four GeneSTAR tenderness markers on shear force were estimated and these were used in a prediction equation to calculate a single value for use in a multiple trait animal model to predict SF EBVM on all animals.en
