Abstract: 

Recently, through the season of Lent we were treated to the book of Exodus in the Liturgy of the Hours and in the Mass. I do not know what is happening to this soul clamoring for Lectio Divina, out of an inept and failing life, but I was shaken to see what seemed to be three stages or modalities of theophany experienced by Moses.

First there is the theophany of light, as in the flame of fire: And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush (Ex 3:2)...
