Existing teaching-learning arrangements in many online courses do not offer sufficient scope for external students to work collaboratively. To prepare students for the IT profession, it is necessary to foster collaborative skills that are needed in the workplace. To provide an authentic context for learning, working collaborative in a technology-supported environment provides students with an authentic experience, replicating how they work when they have completed their university study and enter their profession. In addition, students need to become aware of their own skills in organising tasks, planning, testing and revising possible designs.en
