dc.description.abstract | Tannins are naturally occurring compounds in many plant species, some of which are used as animal and human food. Their role in plants is often at conflict with food quality. In animal production, tannins are largely regarded as antinutrients for non-ruminant animals, but they have been shown to be beneficial to ruminant animals. This report examines the effects of tannins on animals and tries to define a new role for the compounds. | en |
