Abstract:

Accreditation is the regular assessment of whether early childhood services are up to standard, but now this managerial process has become excessive and is hampering early childhood educators' ability to teach, with profound consequences for the sector.

A 2021 transnational study into the work of early childhood educators has revealed accreditation decreases the amount of time they spent with children.
