Title: | Making Values Matter: Training In Difference And Diversity | Contributor(s): | Sims, Margaret (author) | Publication Date: | 2004 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/3825 | Abstract: | This paper argues that values underpin learning and the application of that learning in communities of practice. A model of teaching is proposed for pre-service Children's Service students which emphasises the role of values in students' learning. Planning class content and delivery around the proposed model is demonstrated to result in short-term attitude change. There are indications that longer-term changes have also occurred. | Publication Type: | Journal Article | Source of Publication: | Australian Research in Early Childhood Education, 11(1), p. 75-90 | Publisher: | Monash University, Faculty of Education | Place of Publication: | Australia | ISSN: | 1320-6648 | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 200205 Culture, Gender, Sexuality 200209 Multicultural, Intercultural and Cross-cultural Studies 160809 Sociology of Education |
