Title: | Portfolio of artifacts: Promising data for qualitative research | Contributor(s): | Martin, Juliet (author); Merrotsy, Peter (author) | Publication Date: | 2006 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/3803 | Abstract: | This article describes a data collection method that arises from a fresh application of the portfolio/artifact concept. An extensive search of the literature on data collection methods for qualitative research produced papers and chapters on portfolio (for assessment purposes) and artifacts (for stimulating recall, case study and narrative inquiry). However, nothing was found to resemble the method that follows. It has proved to be a very powerful tool in our research with gifted children, although it does appear to be seldom used elsewhere and, as such, requires further investigation. | Publication Type: | Journal Article | Source of Publication: | Australasian Journal of Gifted Education, 15(1), p. 39-43 | Publisher: | Australian Association for the Education of the Gifted and Talented | Place of Publication: | Australia | ISSN: | 1323-9686 | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 130399 Specialist Studies in Education not elsewhere classified | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 939999 Education and Training not elsewhere classified | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | C1 Refereed Article in a Scholarly Journal | Publisher/associated links: | http://www.aaegt.net.au/whatwedo.html |
