Abstract: This book provides a refreshing foundational account of academic research conducted in comparative education. It identifies contemporary and historical forms of comparative inquiry, both of which are crucial to understanding the present and future directions of comparative education as a field of study. What sets this book apart from other works is that it identifies key educational and methodological foundations necessary for exploring and discovering new forms of inquiry relative to globalisation and the changing role of the nation-state. It does this by means of thoughtful reflection, examples of analysis and approaches made to provide both direction and structure for comparative educational researchers and planners.
