Abstract: Margarent Sutherland, is a lecturer in additional support needs at the University of Glasgow. She is a regular conference speaker and writer of articles on gifted and talented education. Margarent also directs courses, and facilitates seminars and workshops in this field throughout the United Kingdom. She is the current Project Leader of the Scottish Network for Able Pupils (SNAP), a project that supported schools and education authorities in addressing concerns about the education of gifted students. Such support includes publications, staff development and national conferences. She has written a number of books in support of more able students (Sutherland 200, 2001, 2002).
