Abstract: Iceberg Variations explores the faculty of the toy piano to create a piece of music which idiosyncratically responds to themes of Antarctica. The composition is inspired by the visual aesthetic of icebergs from the Antarctic region and responds to the slopes, contours and colours of the bergs. The composition contributes to both toy piano repertoire to artworks inspired by specific geographic locations which foster new meanings and understandings of these areas.
