Abstract: The poll microsatellite test has been available to Australia’s beef industry for approximately 7 years and in that time, the bias in polled phenotyped animals submitted for testing from industry has influenced the accuracy of polled probability assignment to observed haplotypes. This article describes examples of observed mis-assigned haplotypes and their respective phenotypic observations, and the steps taken to correct the poll probabilities and resulting genotype estimations.
