Abstract
This report was compiled in lieu of a traditional conclusion for this thesis: https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/27661. It has thus undergone a peer review process, having been examined by three subject experts. It has been used by the Defence Community Organisation (DCO) to leverage more support for families from the Department of Defence.

Abstract
In this report, recommendations are made for ADF policy makers, social workers, Family Liaison Officers and Regional Education Liaison Officers (REDLOs) based on the results of this research study. The study has increased knowledge and understandings about young children’s experiences of parental deployment in defence families within Australia.
