Abstract: International consciousness, in an increasingly interconnected world, is driving media, popular culture, political and education agendas. Fears and prejudices in national, cultural, linguistic and religious guises seek to label and blame ‘others’. Stereotypes are re-emerging amid concerns about local and global wellbeing, harmony and understanding.
