Abstract: In this paper we explore the notion of cultural homelessness (Vivero and Jenkins 1999) and its relevance to the rising number of disengaged Aboriginal youth who are experiencing poor social and emotional well-being (fatz 2001, Pearson 2000) and are in danger of becoming a 'lost generation'. After defining cultural homelessness, we will examine its usefulness in relation to our research in SWQueensland and suggest strategies for addressing the phenomenon.
