Abstract: The development of the standardized test of achievement in primay science for Fiji, along with the results of the national trial have been reported in previous issues of this journal (Taylor & Macpherson, 1992a; Macpherson & Taylor, 1994). In this article a number of problem areas identified during the national trial are described. It is hoped that this information will be beneficial to other researchers who are working on the development of alternate form tests for developing countries.
