Abstract: Australia has seen even more growth in 2016 in the area of pastoral land under certified organic management. The number of certified organic primary producers also increased steadily in 2016. Using a limited data set, it is estimated that the overall volume (in metric tons) of Australian-grown organic products exported to other countries increased 17 percent between 2015 and 2016. The regulatory and governance arrangements in the certified organic sector in Australia have remained stable since the last World of Organic Yearbook (Lawson et al. 2107), but change is in the air. The Australian Government, organic industry groups, and the participants in the organic supply chain generally are involved in a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing value for the organic sector in Australia.
