Abstract |
Triphylia (three tribes) was the name of a state established between the Alpheius and Neda rivers ca. 400. The district that it occupied was often claimed by Elis. Triphylia seems to have included the six "Minyan" foundations, the most significant of which was Lepreum. According to Strabo (8.33.3), during Archaic times the Eleians dominated the territory between the Alpheius and the Neda.
