Abstract: The biology and ecology of the freshwater mussel, 'Velesunio angasi', were investigated from March 1980 to May 1981, in waterbodies of the Magela Creek - a seasonally flowing stream of tropical northern Australia. Features of the biology and ecology of the mussel studied included shell shape and environment, distribution, abundance, population dynamics, reproduction, food ingestion, physiological condition, production, and seasonal changes in any of these.
