Abstract |
"Computers will not replace teachers, but teachers who use computers will replace teachers who don't." Although computer software for the teaching of Chinese has been a relatively late starter compared to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL) software, it is now developing fast, and teachers of Chinese cannot afford to ignore it. The computer is just one of a range of tools available to the language teacher. The advantage of it is that it can combine the capabilities of several of the other tools. Sound production and sometimes even sound recording, text, graphics, animation and even video can be sequenced or synchronized as necessary, and all included in a single easy to use software package.
