English Abstract: Applying an approach of casualization drawing on Castel/Dörre this book chapter investigates the particular situation of disabled persons in the labour market in Germany. Disabled persons, as criticized by the author, did not get sufficient attention in research on casualization: 'As disabled persons are considered by an able-bodied majority as not meeting the standards of normality, changes of their circumstances and an increase of disability-specific risks might not get considered as precarious at all'. However, the author concludes instead that particularly disabled persons are at a highly risk for casualization. The author clarifies what is considered as a disability in Germany, how many persons are considered as disabled in Germany, and the structural challenges disabled persons are confronted with at the labour market. Furthermore, the so called cultural model of disability proves as a suitable analytical framework to facilitate new perspectives in casualization research and to criticize previous discussions respectively. Especially, because disabled persons have always been excluded from an apparent abled-bodied normality, the 'erosion of standards of normality' appears as a well-known experience for them. Finally, the author demands to reflect perspectives of disabled persons (which he denominates as 'the standard case of precarity') in further research on casualization.
