Title: | N-Acyloxy-N-alkoxyamides - structure, properties, reactivity and biological activity | Contributor(s): | Glover, Stephen (author) | Publication Date: | 2007 | DOI: | 10.1016/S0065-3160(07)42002-0 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/1620 | Abstract: | The properties of amides are determinants of the structure and characteristics of a wide range of molecules and particularly those of peptides and proteins. Universally, amides and amide linkages are characterised by a nitrogen that is largely Sp² hybridised and in which the lone pair resides in a 2pz orbital. As a consequence thereis a strong interaction between the amide nitrogen and the carbonyl. | Publication Type: | Journal Article | Source of Publication: | Advances in Physical Organic Chemistry, v.42, p. 35-123 | Publisher: | Academic Press | Place of Publication: | United States of America | ISSN: | 0065-3160 | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 030401 Biologically Active Molecules | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | C1 Refereed Article in a Scholarly Journal |
