dc.description.abstract | The inter-related Bohemian Reformation and Hussite Revolution has, since the fifteenth century, been a topic subject to philosophical, theological, nationalistic and political bias and will. Despite this, it remains one of the most fascinating studies of late medieval Europe. Since the sudden and drastic political changes in Central and Eastern Europe in 1989, access to libraries and archives in the Czech Republic has become much easier and the climate of research more open and tolerant. Hence, the opportunity for a renewed evaluation of Hussite history is entirely possible. Hussite history in this context is concerned chiefly with the first half of the fifteenth century. | en |
