Title: | Corporate governance, disclosure quality and financial performance: A comparative study of corporate firms in Saudi Arabia and Australia | Contributor(s): | Filfilan, Assaf (author) | Publication Date: | 2013 | Open Access: | Yes | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/14709 | Abstract: | This proposal is for a comparative study between companies of Saudi Arabia and Australia, examining the influence of corporate governance in both disclosure quality and financial performance. The study is designed to fill the gap in the literature by providing empirical support for recent arguments that corporate governance is related to financial performance and disclosure quality. This proposal thus develops two main hypotheses which will be measured and tested over the course of the study. The proposed method for testing the hypotheses is through simple and multiple linear regression analyses of data extracted from the financial statements of 200 companies, 100 from each country. This data will be supported by additional information from market reports and industry analysis where available and relevant. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | Partnerships and the Research Journey 2012: 7th Annual Faculty of The Professions Postgraduate Research Conference, Armidale, Australia, 22nd - 24th October, 2012 | Source of Publication: | Partnerships and the Research Journey: Proceedings of the 7th Annual Postgraduate Research Conference, p. 48-62 | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 150302 Business Information Systems 150301 Business Information Management (incl Records, Knowledge and Information Management, and Intelligence) 150299 Banking, Finance and Investment not elsewhere classified |
