Title: | Film editing in the EFL classroom | Contributor(s): | Gromik, Nicolas (author) | Publication Date: | 2006 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/14078 | Abstract: | A review of the literature reveals that film editing as task-based language development activities has received little attention, and that consideration should be given to the language the software used for film editing is formatted in. This article reports on the use of filming and editing activities by intermediate and advanced university Japanese students of English as a Foreign Language learning to demonstrate the effect of the language software upon the learning development. Finally, this article documents how through this activity students were able to utilize their prior knowledge of English to develop new language awareness while performing their filming task. | Publication Type: | Journal Article | Source of Publication: | JALT CALL Journal, 2(1), p. 27-36 | Publisher: | Japanese Association for Language Teaching | Place of Publication: | Japan | ISSN: | 1832-4215 | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 130207 LOTE, ESL and TESOL Curriculum and Pedagogy (excl Maori) 130103 Higher Education 130306 Educational Technology and Computing |
