Title: | The Outlook for Residential Electricity Prices in Australia's National Electricity Market in 2020 | Contributor(s): | Simshauser, Paul (author); Nelson, Timothy (author) | Publication Date: | 2013 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.tej.2013.04.008 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/14044 | Abstract: | Australian electricity tariffs have increased by more than 10 percent per annum from 2009-2013 while inflation has remained below 3 percent. This can be contrasted with the previous 18 years, when electricity prices decreased in real terms. Policymakers are rightly focused on significant demand-side reforms and our analysis reveals this could result in electricity prices falling by 10 percent by 2020 in real terms. | Publication Type: | Journal Article | Source of Publication: | The Electricity Journal, 26(4), p. 66-83 | Publisher: | Elsevier Inc | Place of Publication: | United States of America | ISSN: | 1873-6874 1040-6190 |
