Abstract
In this paper a model for the development of reflection is developed. The model is then linked to Reiman's zone of proximal reflection to show how feedback on authentic assessment tasks can develop micro and macro reflection. Since action research is a complex task also demanding reflection, action research in the final internship is presented as the capstone authentic assessment task in teacher education. Some implications for teacher education are presented.
