Abstract: This paper explores CSR policies adopted by companies limited by shares (LLCs) in Brazil under the current main public rules. The first part of the paper investigates the sources of environmental CSR and environmental CSR in relation to the structure of LLCs by sketching the general substantive CSR framework in Brazil. The second part of the paper tackles specific substantive environmental CSR issues, including procedural aspects such as environmental impact assessments. The third part of the paper is mainly procedural and focuses on liability issues.
