The 'Nutritional Education Program K-12: Health Promotion through Holistic Lifestyle Management in a School Community' Project was designed to implement a health education program focused on developing and consolidating nutritional knowledge within the school community of a comprehensive (K-12) boarding and day school located in a regional area. The health education program included the development of a nutritional symbol system for use in the school dining hall and canteen that was designed to inform and guide healthy food choices. In addition, students, staff and members of the broader community (e.g., parents, students from associated schools) were encouraged to monitor the health effects of maintaining optimal physical activity levels. The Project aimed to improve nutritional decision-making and to support self-management of optimal body composition among students of the school and, indirectly, the broader associated community.en
