Title: | Integrity in planning postgraduate curriculum: developing research degrees in writing that work | Contributor(s): | Brien, Donna Lee (author) | Publication Date: | 2006 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/1175 | Abstract: | This paper outlines a possible program for postgraduate research degrees in creative andprofessional writing with the aim of generating further debate on the topic. Suchpostgraduate programs, this paper suggests, may provide a framework for not only thetimely completion of research candidates' theses, but also for a broader education ofstudents, including in professional and vocational areas. Other benefits include the potentialto reduce anxiety for candidates and, by promoting a more collaborative, "community ofpractice" teaching and learning environment, the facilitation of a range of additional benefitsfor supervisors and the higher education institution as a whole. | Publication Type: | Conference Publication | Conference Details: | APEIC 2005: 2nd Asia-Pacific Educational Integrity Conference, Callaghan, Australia, 2nd - 3rd December, 2005 | Source of Publication: | Educational Integrity: Values in Teaching, Learning & Research - 2nd Asia-Pacific Educational Integrity Conference Proceedings, p. 42-48 | Publisher: | University of Newcastle | Place of Publication: | Newcastle, Australia | Fields of Research (FoR) 2008: | 200101 Communication Studies | Peer Reviewed: | Yes | HERDC Category Description: | E1 Refereed Scholarly Conference Publication | Publisher/associated links: | http://www.newcastle.edu.au/conference/apeic/ http://www.newcastle.edu.au/conference/apeic/papers_pdf/brien_edd.pdf |
