There is a need for genetic markers that can predict resistance to infectious diseases and performance. Previously, we have shown that negative genetic correlations exist between certain immune traits (%CD11R1+ leucocytes, alpha-1 acid glycoprotein (AGP)) and daily gain, and that many immune traits are heritable. Subsequently, using a genome wide scan, we have searched for chromosome regions that control these traits.en
