Abstract: As part of a major research project on strategies for the sustainable control of gastrointestinal parasites of ruminants using urea-molasses blocks (UMB) detailed information on the influence of non-protein nitrogen supplements on gastrointestinal nematode parasitism of sheep was sought. This thesis includes a review of the relevant literature and descriptions of three experiments conducted to investigate particular aspects of this subject area.
