Title: | Who is Frank Archibald? [Video recording] | Contributor(s): | Albury, Barbara (author) | Publication Date: | 2008 | Handle Link: | https://hdl.handle.net/1959.11/10685 | Abstract: | The great Helen Keller was once asked: "What could be worse than being born blind?" To which she replied: "To be born with sight but without vision." This quote was spoken by Carol Vale, when she introduced the 2003 Archibald Lecture in honour of her great, grandfather Frank Archibald. Frank was a fighter for Aboriginal survival and self-determination. He came back to Armidale in the latter half of his life. This is his story. We pay homage to the traditional and historic owners of the land. We also remember Florence le Gay Brereton who arrived in Armidale in the 1950's and was a great advocate for human rights. | Publication Type: | Book | Publisher: | University of New England | Place of Publication: | Armidale, Australia | Fields of Research (FOR) 2008: | 190401 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Performing Arts | Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) 2008: | 950105 The Performing Arts (incl.
