Dr Md Shahiduzzaman is a Lecturer in Business at the University of New England (UNE) Business School, Australia. His teaching and research are grounded in sustainability, business strategy, responsible management, climate change, digital transformation, and the energy transition. Dr Shahiduzzaman has coordinated and taught multiple undergraduate and postgraduate business units, including Management Practices in Responsible Organisations, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, International Political Economy, and International Business. His teaching excellence has been recognised through multiple Dean’s Unit Commendations across six business units and Fellowship with Advance HE (FHEA) in 2026. His teaching philosophy is informed by experiential, constructivist, and industry-focused pedagogies, integrating ESG data analytics, climate literacy, simulations, and authentic assessments to strengthen students’ analytical capability, employability, and real-world problem-solving skills. He currently serves as the UNE Business School Champion for the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and is recognised as Carbon Literate through the United Nations PRME and Nottingham Business School.
Dr Shahiduzzaman’s professional career spans both academia and industry, having worked with several national and international institutions, including the University of Queensland (UQ), Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), and the International University of Japan (IUJ). Prior to joining academia, he accumulated more than ten years of full-time industry experience across government and policy sectors. He worked as a Senior Advisor at the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Senior Analyst at Queensland Treasury, and Research Economist at Bangladesh Bank. He also served as an Advisor to Australia’s First Robotics Roadmap (2018–2019), contributing to national discussions on emerging technologies and industry transformation.
Dr Shahiduzzaman has published more than 50 scholarly outputs and has received over 1,400 citations, with an H-index of 20 and an i10-index of 30. His research has appeared in leading ABDC A* and A-ranked journals and Scimago Q1 journals, including Global Environmental Change, Energy Economics, Applied Energy, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, and the Journal of Business Ethics. His research focuses on sustainability transitions, ESG and corporate governance, energy and climate policy, digital transformation, and responsible business practices. He has also successfully led more than ten internally and externally funded research projects. |
