Abstract
A nationwide study of New Age spirituality in Australia based on data collected through an anonymous online survey. The survey contained 55 questions about New Age beliefs and practices including yes/no answers and multiple choice questions as well as additional text responses. The survey was distributed by invitation to New Age retail stores, holistic centres and yoga studios in the 101 Significant Urban Areas (SUA) that comprise the majority of the Australian population. It was also promoted through a network of 70 Facebook groups which feature New Age activities and ideologies and act as forums for community engagement. The survey was conducted over seven months to June 2019 and returned 1008 responses by the close of the research period.
