Abstract
United States foreign policy under the George W. Bush Administrationhas seen the acceleration of an attempt to establish the unipolar model as a post-Cold War global system. Unreflectively asserting its status as clearly the most powerful state, US policy is bent towards legitimating and consolidating its dominance. The attempt is floundering, as the gap between US power and hegemony widens.
