Abstract
Abstract:The thesis is the first examination of adjustment disorder (AjD) as defined in the International Classification of Diseases eleventh edition (ICD-11) in Australians with (or surviving) cancer. The thesis starts with the first study a validation of two brief screening instruments for use in clinical and research settings with Australian cancer patients and survivors. The second study is the first 12-month longitudinal investigation of adjustment disorder in Australians with (or surviving) cancer and the factors that predict it - role changes - and that influence its severity - gender and rurality. Finally, the thesis culminates with the only 24-month longitudinal exploration of the course of ICD-11 AjD in Australians with the experience of cancer. Dataset: includes 3 separate studies each with their own data sets. Files are organised within folders with the study number e.g., Study 1, etc.,. Files are clearly named. Some code used to produce results is provided. Excel sheets with charts used in respective papers are also included within the respective file. If there are multiple data files for a study an instruction file has been provided.
