Prior to study, I was working in the international development sector in Timor-Leste and the refugee and asylum seeker sector.
My thesis “Peacebuilding and the Timorese Diaspora: Opportunity or Opportunism?” will explore the experiences of diaspora working or receiving medals in Timor-Leste using an autoethnographic and indigenous / postcolonial methodology. The research will also look at Timorese perceptions of the diaspora, opportunities for engagement and the possibility of conributing to a Timorese methodology and framework for development. |
